1. Dates & Schedule

Event Dates: Saturday, February 28 – Sunday, March 1, 2026

  • Kickoff: Teams typically gather on the morning of Saturday, Feb 28.

  • Hacking Period: Participants build their games over the course of the weekend

  • Submission Deadline: Games must be uploaded to itch.io by Sunday afternoon (Around 12:00 PM or 2:00 PM local time).

  • Demos & Awards: The event concludes with a showcase where teams demo their games to other attendees on Sunday afternoon.

2. Eligibility & Registration
  • Target Audience: Aged b/w 13 to 18.

  • Experience Level: No prior coding or game development experience is required. Beginners are explicitly welcome.

  • Team Size: Teams should consist of 2–3 people. (Some variations allow up to 4, but 2-3 is the standard recommendation for Campfire).

  • Registration: All attendees must be registered on Campfire website.

3. Game Jam Rules
  • Theme: A theme will be announced at the start of the event (Saturday morning). Teams are encouraged to incorporate this theme into their game.

  • Tools: Teams can use any game engine or programming language they prefer

  • Assets: You may use open-source art and audio assets, provided you have the right to use them and credit the creators properly. However, the majority of the game's logic/code should be written during the event.

  • Submission: To be eligible for demos, teams must submit a playable version of their game to the event's itch.io jam page by the deadline.

4. Code of Conduct

All Hack Club events are strictly governed by the Hack Club Code of Conduct. By attending, you agree to the following principles:

The Core Values:

  • Be Welcoming: We strive to be a community that welcomes and supports people of all backgrounds and identities.

  • Be Respectful: We do not tolerate harassment or disrespect. This includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion.

  • Be Considerate: Your work and actions should not disrupt others.

Zero Tolerance Policy:

  • Harassment: Harassment includes sexual language/imagery, deliberate intimidation, stalking, or sustained disruption of talks or other events.

  • Plagiarism: Submitting work that is not your own or failing to credit assets is prohibited.

Reporting: If a participant notices a violation of the Code of Conduct, they should report it immediately to an event organizer or email conduct@hackclub.com.
